Pop culture influnces my life everyday. Because I am a girl, I like beautiful clothes and every girl does. I always watch the TV shows and magazines that can tell me what the newest chothing trend of this year is. Because I am in America, I am supposed to know the trend of America. Therefore, I like to look at the fashion magazines in Wallgreen and the beautiful girls in the atreet, which can teach me how to be fashionable. However, I have to say is I really poor at being fashionable. I know the trend, but I do not know how to arrange the clothes in pairs that will make me look beautiful and fashionable. I do not want to be "Miss american", but I want to adapt to the real American life. I know that it will take a long time to make me be fashion, but because I am a girl, I will try my best.

Pop culture of Chicago changes my thoughts of being a girl. In China, I dependend on my parents, and I never worry about how to support my family and myself. My father always say that because I am a girl, he wishes I can have a happy life. However, the lifestyle of Chicago changes my mind. I know the only person I can rely on is myself. Even though I live with my mother, she cannot help me because she doesnot know English. Therefor, I make myself like a boy and be strong. I do everything on my own because I know I have to grow up and be independent. The young people who are at eighteen will live on their own and do not rely on their families. Therefore, this is the time that I should be autonomy.

• Cultural Identity

With the development of China, many foreigners are more and more interested in Chinese culture. They often go to China to learn Chinese culture. In this poster , you can know that our culture has diversity. Through this poster, you can konw the history of our nation, the most important festival , the tranditional foods ,and the amazing Chinese Kungfu. Chinese is a big country with 56 nations, so its culture is very various. The purpose of this poster is making a deep impression in foreigners, and telling them aomething different about our culture.


Many foreigners know Chinese Kungfu from Bruce Lee,a very popular movie star all over the world. This picture shows people the ture Kungfu, and it is from The Shaolin Temple. The guys in the temple must study kungfu hard, and it will take many years to become the person in the picture. It is amazing, but it is also very difficult.

• Reading

The article "U R 2 Old" gives me a deep impression. Now, we are live in an age of technology, so we use technology everyday. The teenagers of today's society are generation of technology, and they use technology from a younger age. They use the phones to text their friends and search the Internet. They do not like their parents know what they talk about with their friends. They have their own relationship with friends, but they are far from their families. Therefore, parents have to learn how to text because thay want to communicate with their children. However, they children will not reply thier parents if parents give them a call. The only thing the chailren will do is texting back. Technology makes our communication easier than before, but also gives us many problems. We can use technology, but we also should know how to control oueselves. In addition, we should remember that our parents will always wait for us to communicate with them.

Music

I like rock music because it always stands for the real feelings of the singers. My parents do not want me to be a star chaser, but they think the music group, May Day, is good. I really like May Day because they can teach me many lessons of my life. Their attitude of playing music is a model for me. They said that rock was their life. They forcus on their own rock, so they have many good music for the fans. The best song of theirs I think is the "Stubbornness". This song gives me comfidence and hope. I rememberd when I was in high school, I was afraid of I could not go to universuty. However, at that time, I listened to this song, and I knew that I should not give up because I did not try my best. Then, I did my best on my courses. Finally, I went to a good university. This song teaches me never give up when I am disappointed.

• Movies

The movie “Little Miss Sunshine” directed by Jonathon Dayton is a comedy. This movie won the 79th Oscars Academy Awards for the Best Supporting Actor. Alan Arkin who played Richard’s foul mouthed father won this award. In this movie, the little Olive has qualified for the "Little Miss Sunshine" beauty contest, and she is very ecstatic. Then, the whole family uses their yellow microbus to go to California to take the contest because the family members all support little Olive. However, in the contest, little Olive performs a burlesque, and the organizers enrage, and think Olive should be removed from the stage by her parents. Instead removing Olive, one by one family members stand in the stage to perform with little Olive. Finally, Olive cannot go to any beauty pageant in the state of California. However, her father tells her that her grandfather will be proud of her.

The review of "Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon" by Dana Stevens who is from the Slate is my favourite review. It couvers every side of the movie. The most special thing is that it has a record of Dand and John Swansburg, which is very interseting. This review has two pictures of the mivie that can catch my attention deeply. In this review, we can know that how the plot goes on and the main actors. In addition, it also have some special effects about the movie. It is a very good one for the readers because they can get many important imformation form this review. In addition, I also know how to write a good review. A good movie view should have main information and some interseting pictures. Moreover, some special effects also should be included in a review.

• Technology

Today, I think I can not live without computers. Computers are very important to my education and my life. I should use computer to check my homework and my grade, so I can know how is my course going. On the other hand, I miss my father and my friends who are in China. I can chat with them online and keep in touch with them through the computers. Technology make my life very easier than before. I can use technology to know what happens in my home country and make different friends. However, I know I should control myself.

• TV

My favorite TV show is "Happy Camp". There are five hosts in it, and it is very funny. My parents do not want me to watch this show, but I adhere to watch it every Saturday evening. It really can give me happiness and make me forget the bad things. It also will have some famous stars, which I like. I always say that I can forget everything except this show. Even if I am in Chicago, and I cannot watch this show on TV, I use computer to watch it every Saturday. I can not miss the show because missing it will make me sad. Now, my father doesnot say anything again because he knows that I am happy when I watch Happy Camp.
